Morocco
distills light in
every shadow,
through each ochre
and crimson jar of
spices, through it´s
dunes of cinnamon and mint flowers. It´s lands
modify ones senses, turning them around and upside down for in them can be found life in it´s
unadulterated form and the sea then seems bluer. To visit this land is to be wrapped into a complete
orchestra of sounds drifting out from the “zocos”, from the bereber
chants, from the hum of conversations with tea drunk beneath the
horseshoe arches facing the Atlantic Ocean, under the imperturbable
gaze of the Atlas Mountains that solitarily resist the slow invasion
of the desert. Mundane pleasures hide
in cramped and dusty stores,
in hammam with star covered ceilings and in smoke filled medinas at
midnight. Inside the shimmering white and sand colored houses was
born
the hospitality that later was translated into all of the
languages of the world. Ssalamu ‘lekum is the key that opens the
door to the art of Marraquech, to the life of Rabat, to the sunsets in
Essaouira, to the narrow streets of Fez - declared
Heritage of the World
by the UNESCO - and to the Casablanca of Rick
and Renault where the war united a pair
of exiled lovers. This land
does not simply awaken the senses: it makes them fertile.
If light is born in the sun, then the sun hides in Morocco.

Imperial
Morocco
Morocco is a country unlike any other. Still a kingdom, its imperial
cities and dual Muslim and Jewish heritage are fascinating. The food
is extraordinary and Moroccan design is now a reference worldwide.
Highlights of this tour include the quiet capital city
of Rabat with its palaces, medinas and
Atlantic coastline, Fez, the nearby city of Meknes and the Roman
ruins of Volubilis. We’ll then continue South to Marrakech and the nearby coastal town of Essaouira. |
