Essaouira is located at 171 km from
Marrakech, this former pirate harbor
once called "Mogador" is one of
the most attractive cities in Morocco on the Atlantic side. Founded
by the Portuguese and designed by a pupil of Vauban. A small seaside
town on the coast most fascinating ATLANTIC with walls that divide
the city into several old neighborhoods. Impresses with its straight
streets, its typical Portuguese harbor with its bronze cannons were
melted in Spain.
Argan oil :
is derived from the argan tree, endemic
to Morocco, mainly present in the southwest
of Morocco, between Agadir, Essaouira
and Taroudant. It is widely used in the cuisine of this region. Rich
in vitamin E, antioxidants, it is also used for its cosmetic
properties. It is used both in light massages on the face that local
application areas of the body particularly dry.
The cedar :
the most common tree in Essaouira. This
wood, also called calasiris or arar.
It is relatively rare and therefore
highly prized craftsmen. Cedar wood seems close
to that of juniper and cypress. Used
especially the roots of the tree, naturally carved designs by nature
(this is what gives it its precious).
Gnawa Festival :
Each year, Essaouira out his best
clothes to receive the festival of Gnaoua and World Music. Mogador
offers beautiful alleys, open beaches, public places has music.
In recent years, the city became the
Moroccan Woodstock. Colorful and noisy nights
to soothe the soul, the body pierced by
rhythms in a friendly and intimate,
that's what the city looks like during
the Festival !
